Sewage treatment, also known as domestic wastewater treatment or municipal wastewater treatment – is any water that deteriorates in quality through anthropogenic influence and comprises of liquid waste discharged by communities, businesses, industry, and/or agriculture, and can come with a wide range of potential problems.

Over the years, humans have become very complacent about protecting the environment. Governments are not moving fast enough to allow for sustainable economic growth. Our attitude toward dumping personal and industrial waste hasn’t changed much, even with new more efficient innovations coming on the market.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau once said, “It has been calculated that when a factory saves some money by polluting the environment, it costs the citizens living in the vicinity ten times more than it saves the factory.” MEB has been providing wastewater treatment for over a decade through the implementation of new innovative technologies like the membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR).

The revolutionary MABR solution uses, among other mechanisms – passive aeration through diffusion to treat wastewater – which reduces energy consumption further. The unique membrane is designed to be robust with a reduced requirement for expensive maintenance or periodic renewals. The systems’ innovative technology reduces the need for excessive chemical use and the modular / retrofittable design enables quick efficient deployment.

Interested in learning more about the MABR solution and how it can help you save cost and effectively treat domestic wastewater? Be a part of the new tomorrow and speak to our professional staff!

A revolutionary approach to water supply

To cope with a crippling and prolonged drought crisis, MEB installed a containerized desalination plant at Richards Bay, South Africa. The project was completed in just seven months. The containers were easily transported to the designated location.1
