Anaerobic digestion is the mechanism by which organic waste such as animal manure, wastewater biosolids, and other food wastes – in the absence of oxygen – is broken down to generate energy. Anaerobic digestion for biogas production takes place in a reactor, which is designed and constructed in various shapes and sizes specific to the site and feedstock conditions. WTE provides a proven, safe and effective means of thermally treating and reducing the amount of waste that has typically been disposed of in landfills. It is a proven means of eliminating disease causing agents in (and associated with) raw solid waste.
WTE-Derived Technology
The local energy grid is extremely strained and there is a major need for solutions with a small footprint and reduced CO2 Emissions. Often located within urban/suburban areas, WTE is a distributed source of generation that helps support and strengthen the resiliency of the local grid.
Owing to the chemical composition, waste from from certain sectors can have a high content of carbon-rich sugars and fat, giving it big biomethane potential. Our portfolio of solutions produces energy on-site which substantially reduces the amount of waste that enters into landfills. This is an optimal way to harvest energy from a sustainable energy source and achieve the desired economic independence. The electricity generated can be enough to cover 50% or more of the plant’s needs.
MEB’s expertise is being praised around the world. We support farming operations, factories and estates with the adoption of good management practices to protect the surrounding environment and reduce the cost of operations.
We believe in sharing the know-how and significant benefits of WTE, to help accelerate a clean energy transition. Our solutions are made to last and outperform your expectations. Want to know more?
